The second round of the Lifetime Dream Trotting Series was contested at Woodbine Racetrack on Sunday afternoon, and for the second week-in-a-row Margarita Mary mauled the competition for trainer/driver Rick Zeron

.

The four-year-old Andover Hall miss marched to her fourth consecutive score after going gate-to-wire in 1:56.4 in her $25,000 assignment. The other division saw Queen Creek pick up her second win in the series thanks a wire-to-wire score of her own in 1:58.1.

Margarita Mary parked past the quarter pole in a 29-second clip before clearing to the lead, and once she took over command it was game over. She laid down middle splits of :58.2 and 1:28.1 before sailing home in :28.3 to seal the deal. Kandor Hanover sat the pocket trip throughout the mile and finished more than three lengths in arrears of the winner. Another Vixen rallied to finish third.

Alton E Lynch Jr Inc of Delmar, DE and Steve Elliott of New Symrna Beach, FL share ownership on the 10-time winner, who has banked $156,327 to date.

Queen Creek, who erupted for a 25-1 upset in last Sunday’s opening leg of the series, front-stepped to another flawless victory for trainer Harry Zeron, Jr. The four-year-old daughter of Elk Creek chopped out fractions of :28.1, :58 and 1:27.2 before coasting home in :30.3 for the 1:58 score. Keep The Spirit was next best and third prize went to La Marchesa.

Sandra Beback of Depew, NY holds the ownership papers on Queen Creek, who is 2-for-2 this season after putting together a 5-for-22 record in 2009. The 10-time winner pushed her lifetime earnings to $89,035 with the win.

The $60,000 final of the Lifetime Dream Trotting Series is scheduled for Sunday, January 17 at Woodbine Racetrack.
