Fraser Feature To Rock Allstar

The majority of the betting public thought Rock Allstar was the best in Tuesday afternoon’s $10,500 Open Pace at Fraser Downs, and Ed Hensley drove the gelding like he was the best en route to winning the featured tilt in impressive fashion.

Hensley got away third with Rock Allstar, who watched Beach Boy Toy put up a :28-second opening panel. Hensley put his charge into sprint mode in the second quarter, however, and the pacer cleared to the top without a tussle. Rock Allstar zipped through middle splits of :57.4 and 1:27.2 before using a :28.2 closing quarter to win by 3-1/2 lengths over Sir Arthur. Lizard King rallied late and wound up finishing third.

Sent off as the even-money favourite, Rock Allstar prevailed for the first time since being claimed for $12,500 at Indiana Downs on October 29, 2012. Hensley of Blaine, WA trains and owns the 19-time winner, who bumped his lifetime earnings to $62,614.
