On Saturday, November 3rd Standardbred Canada will host the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship at Woodbine Racetrack.
This is the first ever national handicapping championship for harness racing in the country and we've limited it to 50 entrants. Tracks from across the country have hosted qualifying events from March through October.
The grand prize is $20,000. Wouldn't you like to take a crack at competing against 49 other handicappers for a $20,000 grand prize? Well, here's your chance!
We have one spot remaining in the Championship and here's where you come in. Ten industry experts / media people will be selected to participate in a "handicapping challenge" on 8 races from across the country on Saturday, October 20.
Each media person will represent a province. The media person who has the highest bankroll, based on $2 win, $2 place and $2 show wagers on their selected horses will win for their province.
All of the entries from the province represented by that media person become eligible for the grand prize.
The entrant from the winning province who then comes closest at guessing the total amount of the top handicapper's winning payroll will win the final spot in the TROT Canada National Handicapping Championship on Saturday, November 3rd.
The contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone that entered!
