The Top 10 Money-Earning Fillies & Mares - #1

#1 - Moni Maker

The appropriately-named Moni Maker (Speedy Crown - Nans Catch) was named U.S. Horse of the Year in 1998 and 1999 and U.S. Trotter of the Year in 1998, 1999, and 2000. She was awarded Trotting Mare of the Year four times, 1997-2000. Moni Maker’s major wins read like a travel itinerary: the 1996 Hambletonian Oaks at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey, the Elitlopp in Sweden and the Copenhagen Cup in Denmark in 1998, the Prix d’Amerique in France in 1999 and the Trot Mondial in Montreal in 2000. She retired as the richest female racehorse of any breed, with $5,589,256 in earnings after winning 67 of 105 lifetime starts and top-three finishes in 95 races.
