Hit The Hyway was much the best going gate-to-wire for Dan Clements to claim victory for the girls and her owners in the $20,000 Xtreme Battle Final on Saturday night as part of Xtreme Horsepower at Georgian Downs.
With Bunny Talk making a nasty break and removing himself from contention, Clements used inside position to his advantage and fired his charge to the lead and didn't look back. Hit The Hyway hit the wire much the best, finishing the five-eighths mile dash in 1:11.3 with another mare Sweet And Spicy (Gerry Belanger) in second and St Lads Stealth (Anthony MacDonald) in third.
Hit The Hyway (Ft Apache Hanover - Hyway Revenge) is trained by Antonio Belmonte for TFB Stables Inc. of Newington, Ont.
