Got A Ghost Story?

Published: August 26, 2008 11:10 am EDT

Ever heard a scary, unnatural creaking coming from the hayloft? A ghostly whinny by moonlight? The clicking of horseshoes on pavement when all your horses have been put away for the night?

It's still a few months away, but Halloween will sneak up on you before you can shake a scythe at it. We know you've got horse-related ghost stories that will have us quaking in our barn boots, and we want to hear them!

This is your opportunity to share the tale of your eerie encounter with horsemen across the nation. Trot is seeking the best and most ghoulish haunted horse ghost stories to publish in our Halloween issue in two categories – fiction and non-fiction.

There is no word limit – they can be as long or as short as you'd like. Please specify when you submit your story whether it is creative writing (made up) or non-fiction (an actual account of real events).

Please submit all stories to [email protected].

The deadline for all submissions is Tuesday, September 9 at 12:00 p.m.
