The Truro Harness Horse Owners Association is planning a fundraiser in support of Clare MacDonald, who was injured in a racing accident in Saint John, NB earlier this summer.

MacDonald is one of the most successful female driver/trainers in Canada and is much respected in the Maritime harness racing industry.

MacDonald's friends will be throwing a party on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Truro Horsemen's Club, located on the grounds of Truro Raceway.

The THHOA hopes to raise some money to help with expenses while MacDonald recovers. The organizers are looking for donations/door prizes and are inviting everyone who can attend this event.

If anyone is interested in making a donation, please contact Cindy Christie at [email protected] or 902-893-3947; Kelly Smith at [email protected] or 902-895-6646, or Tammy MacKay at [email protected] or 902-893-8475.

A live band will be in attendance, and there is also an auction for many donated items. Stud breedings from Mantwo and Galantine Hanover will be up for bid. Also, Bill Andrew from Meridian Farms has donated two breedings from any of the following sires:

Brandons Cowboy
N Xample
Fit For Life
SS Sand Dollar
Benvolio Hanover
Northern Bailey
PJs Nabby
