Box Closes Tomorrow For KD's Trot-A-Thon

Kawartha Downs has announced the inaugural edition of The Trot-A-Thon, a conditioned stakes event to be contested at a distance of one and a quarter miles over the Fraserville, ON oval.

The Trot-A-Thon, is for non-winners of $50,000 lifetime (with allowances); horses not averaging $1,200 per start in 2008, or $13,000 optional claiming (with allowances).

The eliminations for The Trot-A-Thon will be contested Saturday, July 12. The final is scheduled for Saturday, July 19. Purses will be $9,000 per division and the final will be a $12,000 (added) event.

The eliminations and final will be raced at a distance of one and a quarter miles.

A starting fee of $100 is payable on Saturday July 12. The top nine highest money winners from the eliminations will be eligible for the final. The top nine finishers must declare into the final.

Draw for Saturday, July 12 is Wednesday, July 9 by 10:00 a.m. The Draw for Saturday July 19 is Wednesday, July 16 by 10:00 a.m.
