Standardbred Canada currently has positions open in its IT Department for a Web Developer and a PC Technician

WEB DEVELOPER

Standardbred Canada (SC) has a full time opening for a Web Developer – located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Responsibilities
• maintain and enhance current SC Web sites
• develop new initiatives on the web site – working with the managers and staff of SC

Requirements
• fluent knowledge of Drupal, PHP, MYSQL, Apache, Linux (Ubuntu preferred)
• three-plus years experience developing Web Sites
• fluent in English with good oral and written communication skills
• ability to Document
• must be flexible in working in an environment that is open 7*24
• excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• a Computer/Technical diploma, preferably a University degree in computer science or equivalent
• ability to work individually and in a team and to be able to pass on knowledge to others

PC TECHNICIAN

Standardbred Canada has a Full Time opening for a PC Technician - located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Responsibilities
• troubleshooting hardware and software problems for all in-house and track PCs.
• upgrading hardware and software, when instructed, for all Standardbred Canada PCs.
• assisting with user education on various PC software products

Requirements
• working knowledge of PCs (Windows 98, XP, Vista and Windows servers)
• be able to demonstrate that they can troubleshoot hardware and software problems
• have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Pagemaker/Indesign
• fluent in English with good oral and written communication skills
• knowledge of Apple Macintosh computers would be an asset
• must be flexible in working in an environment that is open 7 days a week 24 hours a day (on call)
• excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• a computer/Technical diploma, preferably a University degree in computer science or equivalent
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• French would be an asset
• must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle
• knowledge of TCP/IP
