USTA Launches ‘Social Ambassador’ Program
As the harness racing industry gears up the recently initiated social media marketing effort designed to lay the foundation for ongoing promotion, the United States Trotting Association, in partnership with Converseon, is inviting industry enthusiasts to become part of its new Social Ambassador program.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of social media and be willing to help share their passion for the sport through active social media presences. The program will provide ongoing content, promotions and training to help ‘spread the word.’
“The Social Ambassador program will help provide a framework for collaboration, sharing and growing the visibility and awareness of the sport. It’s a great opportunity for those who share the duel passions of harness racing and social media to become important members and contributors to our efforts,” said Rob Key, CEO of Converseon.
“Our success will require everyone’s contribution, so we strongly encourage all those interested to apply.”
Initial participation will be limited to approximately 50 people, before looking to scale it more aggressively in 2014.
As part of membership, Ambassadors will be given access to compelling content, stories and promotions to help spread the word. They will also become key content contributors to the overall social media efforts through utilization of a social media management platform that will bring coherence and organization to efforts and help track overall performance. Those with photography, writing and video skills are especially encouraged to participate.
Top performers will be recognized for their efforts and impact. All participants will be required to abide by established social media best practices to ensure the sport promotes itself in the most ethical and effective manner.
To apply, please email name, contact information (including social contact information on Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms if available) to [email protected]. We look forward to your support and participation in this groundbreaking social media effort.
