‘Blue Chip Advantage’ Announced

Blue Chip Farms has announced the ‘Blue Chip Advantage’ for year-round boarding mares. A release from Blue Chip explains that mare owners will be able to leverage Blue Chip’s substantial and continuing investment in its equine reproductive infrastructure for their benefit.

The Blue Chip Advantage philosophy is based on 14 years of accumulated data from its New York operation which shows that on farm managed mares have higher in foal rates than those mares bred via shipped semen or on a transient basis.

“The Blue Chip Advantage is built to pass on substantial cost savings to mare owners that board with us,” commented the farm’s principal, Tom Grossman. “Reduced per heat cycle costs due to having a highly accomplished reproductive veterinarian on staff in Dr. Herbert Burns, coupled with the absence of semen transport/preparation and outside vet visit fees, saves our clients’ money. Dr. Burns expertise has enabled us to reduce the number of cycles needed, on average, to get a mare pregnant.” Boarding packages will also be available for multiple mare owners.

Grossman continued, “The edge we have in the business with our resident and dedicated mare management process along with the significant advances and investment we have made in technology in 2015, will enhance our abilities to serve our year round clients and their mares.”

Tiffany Wyman at Nutrena added, “From the rigorous analysis and constant fine tuning of every aspect of the nutrition program to compliment the several phases of equine physical development, the team at Blue Chip Farms has given their life to understanding the core success of nutrition and well-being.” This nutritional commitment to the mare and foal has resulted in the development of well-rounded young equine athletes that are proven to bring top dollar at the yearling sales.
