PA To Audit Gaming/Control Board
Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale has been cited as saying that his office will conduct an audit the operations of the state’s gaming and control board in 2015.
News of DePasquale’s decision comes courtesy of an article on citizensvoice.com. The report states that his office will audit the board’s bureau of investigations and enforcement.
In the article, DePasquale was quoted as saying that his office is going to be “curious to see how effective they’ve been there” and that it is important to make sure that “the system is running cleanly.”
DePasquale conducted an audit of the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development Fund earlier this year. In June he determined that the future of the state’s billion-dollar horse racing industry is in trouble and risks a catastrophic shutdown if measures are not taken to increase revenue and stop a diversion of racing funds to plug holes in the state’s budget.
