3R Track Record Holder Returns
After an eight-month layoff, Hippodrome 3R track record holder Pablo Angus returns to the harness racing wars and makes his 2014 debut in the fourth race feature trot on Sunday.
It was back in 2008 that Pablo Angus set the track mark at Hippodrome 3R, trotting the half mile track in 1:56. Now the 12-year-old gelded son of Fortune Winner is a career winner of $130,000 for owner Mario Bourgea of Stanbridge East, QC.
Last week Pablo Angus romped in his qualifying race at Hippodrome 3R, winning by 11 ½ lengths in 2:03. He starts from the rail for driver Rheo Filion and trainer Eric Gnocchini.
It will not be a walk in the park for Pablo Angus as he takes on Miss Jackpot (post 2), Whitewater Rapids (post 7) and Ghirardelli Lindy (post 3).
The Sunday program features nearly $60,000 in purses with the third and final preliminary round of the Quebec-Bred Series for four and five-year-olds trotters and pacers. After this program the top eight point earnings throughout the series will return next Sunday, June 8 for the $35,000 finals.
Featured will be series leg winner and the all-age track record holder, Duc Dorleans.
First race post time is 1:00 p.m. To view the entries for Sunday's card, click the following link: Sunday Entries - Hippodrome 3R.
