Sandown Park Raceway News
It has been reported that councillors in North Saanich, British Colombia have unanimously approved a plan which would see the buildings razed at the now-defunct Sandown Park Raceway.
The news comes courtesy of a report by the Times Colonist, which states that the grandstand, side buildings, the deserted stables and two old residences would be demolished.
The Randall family, which owns the land the raceway is located on, has reached a deal with Omicron, a development company.
Under the deal, 33.6 hectares of the land would be transferred to the District of North Saanich. The Randall family would retain 4.85 hectares of land which would be re-zoned for commercial development, but not residential development.
Council is expected to vote on the proposal on October 7.
