Wrenn Jr. Wins 10 Races At Northville
Driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr. celebrated an outstanding night at the track on Friday winning 10 of the 14 races carded at Northville Downs.
The 26-year-old reinsman kicked off the program with four consecutive wins aboard Ilikethesun ($3.40) for trainer Mervin Schmucker, Lil Be Dazzeld ($3.80) for Dirk Sisung, and Don Sherman trainees Songonbroadway ($4.60) and Thatswhattheysay ($3.80).
Following a fourth-place finish in the next dash, he returned to the winner's circle with the popular Sweet Carol Ann ($3) for his father, Ron Wrenn.
Two dashes later, Wrenn began a three-race win streak aboard R B Spirit ($8.20) for Scott Galloway, and a pair of Will Johnson pupils, Doowrah Omelet ($3.80) and Ee Bay ($6.60).
He then closed out the card with victories aboard Blah Blah Blah ($6.20) for Phil Cook and another Sherman trainee, Chubby Squirrel ($3.80).
Wrenn's Friday victories pushed his seasonal win total to 75 and earnings to nearly $220,000. The Howell, Michigan resident was named the Rising Star of the Year by the Michigan Harness Horsemen's Association in 2011 and enjoyed a career year in 2012, which included 436 wins and over $1.5 million in purse earnings.
