PEIHRA logo

The Prince Edward Island Harness Racing Industry Association (PEIHRIA) has issued a reminder to all non-Prince Edward Island resident breeders boarding their broodmares in Prince Edward Island.

If those mares foaled in the province in 2026, owners are required to submit a Resident Mare Form by Dec. 1, 2026 to the PEIHRIA office.

To be eligible for the resident mare program and yearling nomination to Island stakes with residency requirements (Brian Andrew, Lady Slipper, and Joe O’Brien), the mare must have resided in P.E.I. for 183 days during the 2026 foaling year and foaled in P.E.I. in 2026. The form must be filled out and signed by the farm owner or manager where the mare resides and submitted to PEIHRIA office prior to the deadline.

The form, available here, is also available at the PEIHRIA website under the "Forms" tab.
