MacIntosh Debuts Five Winners In Mohawk Baby Races
Trainer Blake MacIntosh sent out five winners during the first baby races of the season at Woodbine Mohawk Park on a beautiful spring morning on Thursday, June 4.
MacIntosh debuted 16 two-year-olds during the nine-race qualifying session including the fastest winner, the American Ideal-Free Ticket colt Free Agent. After tracking in third through evenly rated 30-second opening panels as the leaders settled up front, driver Louis-Philippe Roy made his move with the Winbak Farm homebred and was on top by three-quarters in 1:28.2. Free Agent sprinted home in :27.4 to win the morning's fifth qualifier in 1:56.1 by two lengths over the Carl Jamieson-trained Aces Wires (Jody Jamieson) while his own stablemate We Want Eazy (Tyler Borth) finished third.
The colt is a full sibling to New York Sire Stakes winner American Ticket ($207,632 - 1:52s), a former MacIntosh trainee, and a half-brother to Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Free Flyin Ticket ($310,413- 1:52s).
The Carl Jamieson stable showcased 10 two-year-olds on Thursday with three winners, including the morning's fastest trotter, a filly by King Of The North out of Vanity Treasure named Treasure King. After cruising along in third through opening fractions of :30.4 and 1:02.1 in the sixth qualifier, Treasure King circled the early leaders for driver Jody Jamieson and opened up a quick three-length lead by the third quarter mark in 1:31.1. She kept on going, trotting her final quarter in :29 to leave the others behind in a 7-1/4-length romp in 2:00.1. MacIntosh trainees Dewenitforthemoni (Tyler Borth) and Shes A Maneater (Doug McNair) finished in second and third.
Bred by Christ Beiler of Gordonville, Pennsylvania, Treasure King was a $59,155 yearling sale purchase from the 2025 Standardbred Horse Sale by her trainer and 1140545 Ontario Ltd. Guelph, Ont. She is a half sister to Vali Hanover ($455,117 - 1:53.4s).
