Shoreline Station Tops Lexington Sale Day Three

Pacing colt Shoreline Station topped the third day of the 2025 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion in Lexington, Ky.

Shoreline Station, Hip 394, was purchased for $381,944 ($275,000 USD) on a winning bid from Linda Toscano, acting as an agent. The colt, consigned by Spring Station Bloodstock, is a son of Sweet Lou-Seaside Park. He is the first foal from Seaside Park, a daughter of stakes winner Cinamony and a Downbytheseaside half-sister to Cane Pace champion Captain Optimistic and stakes winner Odds On Cinnamon.

Next in the ring as Hip 395, Hold The Bun brought a $277,778 ($200,000 USD) winning bid from Knutsson Trotting Inc. of Delray Beach, Fla. The Captain Corey-Bonnie Lou filly was consigned by Cameo Hills Farm. Her dam is a full sister to stakes winner Love Muffin, and her family includes Breeders Crown champion Sig Sauer and Hambletonian Oaks winners Fashion Schooner and Broadway Schooner.

A Sailors Prayer, Hip 415, sold for $250,000 ($180,000 USD) to Annie Stoebe, acting as an agent for Mazza Racing Stable of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The colt by Captain Corey is the second offspring of A Hopeful Prayer, a six-time winner with a mark of 1:53.3. A Sailors Prayer was consigned by Preferred Equine.

Hook N Reel, Hip 496, brought the gavel down at $236,111 ($170,000 USD), purchased by Ake Svanstedt Inc. of Wrightstown, N.J. from consignor Concord Stud Farm. The Captain Corey-Flos Conch Shack colt is a half-brother to stakes winner Mr Grant ($152,233, 1:54.3).

Lous Latitude, Hip 370, went to Chris Ryder of Allentown, N.J. on a winning bid of $229,167 ($165,000 USD). Consigned by Alliance Bloodstock, the Sweet Lou colt is out of Compass, a daughter of Grand Circuit winner Ginger And Fred and full sister to Pennsylvania champion Proof and stakes winner Almanac.

The third session had 229 yearlings pass through the ring for gross sales of $16,044,444 ($11,552,000 USD). The average winning bid of $70,063 ($50,445 USD) was an increase from last year’s third-session average of $48,881 USD.

Across three sessions, 571 yearlings have brought $72,943,055 ($52,519,000 USD) in revenue with an average price of $127,746 ($91,977 USD), down from last year’s total across three days of $55,172,000 USD.

The opening session of the Lexington sale was held on Monday and the Walner-French Cafe filly Dejeuner garnered the most attention with a $1.38 million ($1 million USD) price tag to top day one. Selling as Hip 70, Dejeuner was purchased by Noel Daley, who served as agent for Winning Key of Chesterfield, New Jersey. Kentuckiana Farms consigned the half sister to 2024 Elegantimage Stakes winner French Champagne (1:51.4 - $739,033). 

Attracting the highest bid of the second session on Tuesday, Jimdougie Armitage, a son of Captain Corey, went for $1.04 million ($750,000 USD) to Ake Svanstedt Inc. of Wrightstown, New Jersey. He is the first foal of Quick Bet, a full sister to Breeders Crown champion and Dan Patch Award recipient Winners Bet. The mare was a four-time winner on the track and took a mark of 1:56.1. The colt, Hip 182, was consigned by Armitage Farm LLC.

The sale will continue on Thursday with another 1 p.m. afternoon session and wrap up on Friday night with a 7 p.m. session.
