Windsong Patriot Jogs In Meadows Feature
Windsong Patriot exploded to the top from post five and never had an anxious moment as he captured Wednesday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $17,361 conditioned trot.
A potential stretch duel between Windsong Patriot and the pocket-sitting Wallet never developed, as Wallet jumped it off at the top of the lane, leaving Windsong Patriot and Hunter Myers unchallenged. The eight-year-old E L Titan-Windsong Idol gelding triumphed in 1:54, 1-1/4 lengths better than Rising MVP, with Big Boy Ernest third.
Trainer Melanie O’Donnell co-owns Windsong Patriot, who soared over $340,000 in career earnings, with Corey Hendricks.
Dave Palone collected four wins, including three for trainer Sandy Sokol and owners Jeff Demiere and Howard Balis, on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Thursday when the program features a $788.87 in the Early Pentafecta (race four). First post is 12:45 p.m.
