The 2023 racing season came to a close on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 29) at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway with the program featuring Rollwithhottytoddy giving driver Adam Merner one of his five winners.

The Trevor Hicken-trained Rollwithhottytoddy settled away fourth in the featured $3,500 Preferred Handicap Pace and circled up from the back to nail pacesetter Sauble Attack (Brodie MacPhee) in 1:55.2. Frontier Cruiser (Brady Sweet) was third. Hicken also holds the ownership papers of the four-year-old son of Rollwithitharry.

Merner opened and closed the program out reining Melissa Rennie trainees to victory as race one went to Beers On Me (2:05) in a maiden-breaking score and the race 14 finale was a front-end victory by Impeccable Shadow (1:56.2) to double up the trainer. Merner also won with Silver Spirit (1:57.1) for trainer Devon Wallace and Azure Beach (1:59.4) as part of a five-win day for Merner to go with his two seconds and two thirds for a perfect top-three percentage from nine drives.

Driver David Dowling steered four horses to victory on the final day of racing, winning with One Rock (1:59) for trainer Nick Oakes, No Fool Mackinley (1:58.2) from the Garth Cole barn, Shesrockandfame (2:00.1) for trainer Mike Dowling and Youremyhearthrob (1:59.2) from his own stable.
