Ohio Super Night Set For Saturday
Ohio Super Night, the richest day in Ohio harness racing history with 18 races going for $3.7 million in purses, will be at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Saturday, Sept. 9. First post is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Two Grand Circuit events will be highlighted amongst the eight $300,000 Scarlet Championships for the Ohio Sires Stakes and the eight Gray Championships going for $100,000 each. The ninth edition of the Charlie Hill Memorial Trot and 10th edition of the Jim Ewart Memorial Pace will go off as races 13 and14, respectively, on the evening’s card.
“Never in the history of Ohio harness racing has there been such a great night to celebrate Ohio-sired horses,” said Joe Morris, Senior Vice President of Racing for Caesars Entertainment. “Of course, we also have the Hill and Ewart races, which are bringing in horses from across North America to Scioto.”
Special activities for the night will include a driver autograph session, special edition t-shirts tossed from the winner’s circle, a food truck court, live music on the patio and more.
With 18 races, there will be a robust wagering menu, including four $10,000 guaranteed wagers – the three 50-cent Pick-4s starting in races one, 11 and 15, as well as the Scarlet Championship 20-cent Pick-8, starting in race five, which will have a track low 14 per cent takeout. Other wagers on the evening with 14 per cent takeout include the three 50-cent Pick-5s, starting in races three, eight and 14.
There will be special coverage on Fox Sports 2 of the evening’s races from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. as part of America’s Day at the Races, produced by the New York Racing Association (NYRA). Also, the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association “Saturday Night at the Races” team will be on site and streaming live on Facebook for the entirety of the card.
