Flashback Bi Tops Day Two Of Lexington Sale

Flashback Bi as a yearling

The 2022 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale continued on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky, with the big-ticket yearling Flashback Bi topping the second day's bidding.

Flashback Bi, Hip 197, brought a half-million-dollar bid from Courant Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida. Consigned by Hunterton Sales Agency, the first-crop Greenshoe colt is the fourth foal out of the Grand Circuit stakes-placed Muscle Hill mare Dream Child. Flashback Bi's siblings include last year's Delvin Miller Memorial Stakes division winner You Ato Dream (1:52.2 - $593,852), last week's Bluegrass Stakes-winning freshman Ari Ferrari J (1:54.2 - $202,600) and Dribbling Bi (1:56 - $102,039).

“What’s not to like?” Marcus Melander, who campaigned Greenshoe and will train Flashback Bi, told the USTA. “He’s a very athletic colt, stands very correct, obviously a great pedigree; he’s just a very nice horse. We really liked him. He was one of our top picks. We’re very glad we got him. We were prepared to go high on him, we really liked him that much.

“[Flashback Bi] looks a lot like [Greenshoe], to be honest,” said Melander. “He’s very light on his feet and athletic. He really looks like his dad. I’m thrilled to train him.”

Among Tuesday's top priced yearlings, Eunoia Hanover, Hip 200, was purchased for $375,000 by Nancy Takter of Allentown, New Jersey, agent for Caviart Farms.
