PEIHRIA Name The Foal Contest Open

A Standardbred foal

The Prince Edward Island Harness Racing Industry Association (PEIHRIA) invites young harness racing fans to submit prospective names for four Standardbred foals born this year at P.E.I. breeding farms. The winning entries will receive a prize package and the opportunity to make a presentation to a winning horse at a race on P.E.I. this summer.

Visit the PEIHRIA website for contest details and videos from each participating breeding farm (Dusty Lane Farms, Elm Grove Farms, Howmac Farms and Woodmere Farms) that contain information on the farm's background, the foal, the sire (father) and the dam (mother). Each foal’s name must include the farm name and cannot be comprised of more than four words and no longer than 18 characters, including spaces. Numbers and symbols are not permitted in Standardbred names.

The contest is open to all those aged 12 and under, and multiple entries are permitted. The foals’ owner will select the winning names.

Please submit your entries to the PEIHRIA office through the contest entry page by Aug. 5, 2022. The contest winners will be notified by the  PEIHRIA and the winning foal names will be posted on the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association Facebook page.

If you have any questions about the contest, please contact Julie Jamieson at 902-569-1682.
