Henriksen Comments On Perfetto's Trip
After a trip overseas to compete in the Elitloppet this past weekend with O'Brien Award-winning trotter Perfetto, trainer/driver Dagfin Henriksen has commented on the experience of a lifetime.
While Perfetto finished fifth in his elimination heat just missing a spot in the final, won by France's Etonnant on Sunday at Solvalla Race Course in Stockholm, Sweden, Henriksen said he was proud of the Majestic Son gelding, who handled the international travel like a professional and put forth a valiant effort.
"Definitely the best experience of my life," said Henriksen in a social media post on Monday morning. "Perfetto raced huge and I'm so proud of him as I am with [caretaker and fiancee] Laura Trask that did the best for him and I to keep us cool before the race. Thanks for everyone's support and we will look forward to the next race in Oslo."
Owned by Gerald Haggerty of Camden East, Ont., Perfetto's international campaign will continue with a trip to Henriksen's native Norway for the 2022 Oslo Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday, June 12 at Bjerke Racetrack.
