Davis Jr. Boosts Win Total
Up-and-coming reinsman Billy Davis Jr. continued his recent hot streak, pushing his win total to 15 in just two days of racing action
.
Fresh off a five-win performance doing double duty at Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs on Wednesday, Davis Jr. reeled off six more victories during the Thursday afternoon program of harness racing at Flamboro Downs and another four under the lights at Woodbine Racetrack.
The British Columbia native who currently resides in Cambridge, Ont. steered veteran pacer Grissini ($2.60) to a four length romp for trainer Jason McGinnis to record his first win of the day in the fourth race at Flamboro. He then guided trotting mare Secret Liz ($4.10) to her fourth win in a row in the very next race for conditioner Carmen Auciello. Davis Jr. also clicked with the new Cory Fuller-trained trotter Future Bernie ($9.90), fresh off the claim, in the eighth race. The 25-year-old son of O'Brien Award winning horseman Bill Davis then strung together three consecutive victories to close out the 12-race card with pacing mare E L Avenger ($5.60) for Adrian Hickey, gelding Ruff Stuff Jackson ($5.70) for John Bond, and gelding Sky Ryder ($19.40), a six length winner, for Laeticia Maslia.
Davis Jr., who currently sits fifth in Canada for wins, later scored with trotting gelding Tigre Angus ($9.60) in the fourth race at Woodbine for trainer Paul Megens. He also won with sophomore pacing gelding Rock Solid ($7.80) in the seventh race for Kevin McMaster, and Bet Canadian pick pacing mare Jusluky Bobbi J ($12.20), a repeat winner for McGinnis, in the ninth race. Davis Jr. capped off his successful day and the 11-dash program with an upset victory aboard three-year-old pacing gelding Njs Trick Pistol ($34.70) for conditioner Shawn Robinson.
Davis Jr.'s win total now stands at 396 for 2011, a career year for the young reinsman.

Good job , you deserve it ...I think he has a chance to be a WEG regular , in my brief time driving with Billy he has come out of his shell and has respect towards the drivers that have been around for a while , he has shown to have a solid work ethic and he has done very very well with the opportunities given him and he has shown the humility to accept and understand when he makes mistakes and is willing to learn from them , that IMO is the difference between him and the majority ...
