Gagnon Grabs Five At Rideau

It was a good night all around for reinsman Guy Gagnon on Thursday at Rideau Carleton Raceway thanks to a five-win performance, which included a pair of wins with horses from his own outfit

.

Gagnon, who sits second among Rideau Carleton Raceway’s top teamsters, kicked off the 15-race card winning with Sudden Paradise in 1:58.1. He returned to take the checkered flag in Race 3 with Mistervolare – a pacer from his own barn – in a time of 1:57.2.

He later catch-drove Santas Special to a 1:56.3 victory in Race 12 before sweeping the final two dashes with Stardom Seeker – the second winner from his own stable – in 1:57 followed by a triumph in the finale with Winston Image in 1:57.

Gagnon, who is in the midst of his 11th million-dollar season and his 11th consecutive season of sitting behind more than 200 winners, went over the $18-million mark in lifetime earnings earlier this year. The Gatineau, Quebec horseman has racked up 3,857 lifetime wins along the way.
