Campbell Named WTC Keynote Speaker
Hall of Fame driver John Campbell, who has been recuperating following a racing accident this past May 30, has agreed to deliver the keynote speech at the opening of the twenty-second World Trotting Conference
.
Campbell, who is the all-time leader in the sport in terms of money won, will welcome the delegates on Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, where representatives of 17 countries and the European Trotting Union will gather for the first of five days of meetings.
The Canadian native and longtime New Jersey resident is well known on the international scene, having won the 1988 Elitlopp in Sweden with two-time Horse of the Year Mack Lobell, an accomplishment Campbell rates among the true highpoints of his distinguished career.
“We are very pleased that John has recovered enough to address the World Trotting Conference,” U.S. Trotting Association President Phil Langley said. “He certainly is our most well known and respected horseman, worldwide.”
