After suffering a broken fibula in a race accident on July 2 at Mohawk Racetrack, driver Jack Moiseyev is hoping to return to the sulky in three weeks

.

The Moffat, Ontario, resident also stretched three ligaments in his knee, but won’t require surgery or a cast.

“It was a clean break,” the driver explained. “I went for an X-Ray and an MRI and I’m very fortunate not to be out longer than expected.”

Moiseyev’s charge, Visible Gold, fell while positioned third, which also caused Luc Ouellette, aboard No Flash In Pan, to be unseated. Ouellette was able to walk off the track under his own power. Visible Gold suffered some scrapes and cuts, but walked off the track under his own power. Tragically, No Flash In Pan lost his life due to the accident.

“I have seen the replay a few times and realize how lucky I was,” Moiseyev commented. “It could have been a lot worse.”

Moiseyev is hoping he’ll be back on track soon.

“I have an appointment with the doctors in three weeks, and if he gives me a clean bill of health, I’m back.”

Moiseyev is one of the sport’s all-time leading drivers with over $122,001,408 in purses.
