Come Meet A Canadian Record Holder
Organizers with the Standardrama Horse Show have announced that a Canadian Record holder will be on hand during its show this Sunday
(June 19) at the Orono Fairgrounds.
The show, which will get underway at 9:00 a.m., is part of the Ontario Standardbred Show Series. Participants of the series need to attend three of the four shows to be eligible for year-end awards.
There is no charge for spectators. The organization welcomes everyone to come out and see what standardbreds can do once their racing days are over.
Retired Abercrombie gelding Primetime Bobcat, who paced a victorious Canadian Record mile in 1:47.2 at Woodbine Racetrack in 2006, will be on hand. The 14-year-old was owned by Tony Montini, but is now owned by the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society. There will also be other horses at the show which will be up for adoption via OSAS.
Standardrama is also proud to announce the first year of its Junior Sponsorship Program. Each junior rider was asked to submit an essay about themselves and their horse. Victoria Kirkland was the winner. The youngster wrote about her love for her horse, Viking Temper, and the progress they have made. The Sunday event in Orono will be Victoria's first show ever.
Also, a silent auction will be taking place and will include a limited edition print, a custom made summer driving suit from Jocelyne Beaulieu, a lot of horse related prizes and much more.
