Brawny Prevails In Sudbury Preferred
Brawny wore down pacesetter Lucky Asset in Wednesday’s $11,000 Not Listed Preferred Pace to notch his third consecutive victory for trainer Danielle Soullliere at
Sudbury Downs.
Lucky Asset (Jeff Nowoselsky) carved out fractions of :29, :59.3 and 1:27.3 while Brawny and Allan Hohner advanced from fourth. The odds-on favourite used a :28.1 final kicker to steal the lead in the stretch and prevail in 1:56 flat by 1-1/2 lengths. Lucky Asset stayed for second with Round About Fame (Gerry Belanger) following under the wire.
Brawny returned $3.80 to win as the popular choice. The five-year-old a son of Cammibest-Blushin Love is owned by Roger Brown of Lively and Donald Price of Powassan, ON.
