Top Saint John Pacers Face Off Saturday

Saturday's card at Exhibition Park Raceway, presented by Horse Racing New Brunswick, will see two of the hottest pacers at the Saint John track lock heads in the day's feature: Little Manny vs. Woodmere Ideal Art.

Woodmere Ideal Art, who has made his presence known in top class events throughout the Maritimes, will have post five for catch-driver John Davidson. Ultimate Stables own the fiery pacer, who will look to use that quick gate speed early to set his sights on the lead early.

That certainly won't come easy with lots of contending speed to deal with from the inside posts. Leaving the inside will be Fall Bliss for Dr. Mitchell Downey. He was a convincing winner last time out in gate-to-wire fashion.

Kyle Mason will have K D Overdrive in the number two position behind the gate for his father Steve Mason. He, too, has been a consistent overnight pacer and should get a good trip from post two.

Instant Shadow is the second Ultimate Stables entry and will score from mid-pack for driver Mark Haig. He's a versatile horse who has good tactical gate speed, but can sit outside and try and run down the front-runners.

Little Manny, red hot at Exhibition Park Raceway for driver and co-owner Stephen Trites, leaves from post four. He also is owned in part by Brad & Dean McLaughlin and Mark Taylor. He has been on top of his game and has been using a front-end style of racing, which should make things interesting.

Wagering is available on site, Dieppe & Fredericton teletheatre locations and through HBIbet. Post time for the five-dash program on Saturday is 1 p.m.
