The fields for the 2021 Guardian Gold Cup & Saucer trials were announced at the official media launch on Tuesday morning (August 10) at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.

Old Home Week commences on Thursday, Aug. 12 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 21, which features a double-header of live harness racing concluding with the 62nd edition of the $60,000 Guardian Gold Cup & Saucer.

For the first time in a decade, there will be three trials for the Gold Cup & Saucer. The first two trials will be contested this Saturday (August 14) followed by the third trial on Monday (August 16).

At the post position draw for the trials, Red Shores announced a new community component to the Gold Cup & Saucer Ambassador program. In addition to representing a horse, each ambassador will represent a charity with the winner receiving a $5,000 donation.
