New Overnight Series In New Brunswick
On Tuesday (Feb. 23), officials with Horse Racing New Brunswick announced the introduction of a new series geared toward overnight horses racing in New Brunswick.
The Autumn Gold Series will reward horses racing all season long in New Brunswick. Horses will accumulate points every time they start at a New Brunswick track, as well as for every dollar they earn in a New Brunswick race. Horses who make a minimum of 12 starts in New Brunswick will be eligible for tiered finals on Oct. 23 at Exhibition Park Raceway, with the top eight point earners competing for a $4,500 purse and those next in the standings being eligible to race in consolations worth $3,500, $3,000 and $2,500.
"We see this as another step in the right direction for New Brunswick participants," said Brock McEachern, president of HRNB.
