Tiempo Hanover In Time At Century
Clinging to a narrow lead into the stretch, Tiempo Hanover managed to hold control to the finish of the $9,000 Open Pace at Century Downs on Tuesday (Aug. 18).
Trainer-driver Brandon Campbell sent the 8-5 favourite to the top with Retros Mystery settling into the pocket. The six-year-old Western Ideal gelding sped through fractions of :27.3, :55.3 and 1:23.1 facing little challenge. But Retros Mystery mounted a bid out of the pocket coming into the stretch and matched strides with the pacesetter heading for the finish. Tiempo Hanover gained slight separation at the inside, edging to a half-length victory in a 1:52.4 mile over Retros Mystery. Crackle N Burn came first over into the final turn to snag third.
