Massachusetts Racino Talk Cools
Last week it looked that video lottery terminals may be coming to some Massachusetts racetracks sooner than later. Although, the proposition now seems to be a longshot after an announcement yesterday
.
According to an article by The Boston Herald, Massachusetts House of Representatives speaker Robert A. DeLeo and governor Deval Patrick stated after a meeting yesterday that complicated legislation probably will not be able to be passed before the November 18 legislative session deadline.
“To say that we’ll have a bill on the governor’s desk by the end of this (year), I think, may be a difficult task,” DeLeo was quoted as saying.
“I want to make sure we’ve got all our 'i’s dotted and our 't’s crossed so this legislation is done the right way,” senator Anthony Petrucceli, who is in support of the expanded gambling, was quoted as saying.
