Dance Step moseyed on over to the winner’s circle after working out a winning second-over trip in the main event on Sunday afternoon at Killarney

Dance Step closed out the card with his one and three-quarter length victory in the $2,100 Preferred Pace for trainer/driver Greg Manning and owners Donald Ransom of Boissevain, Keith Earle, Bill Lowrie and Bob Stremich of Winnipeg, MB. The four-year-old gelding got away third in the four-horse affair as Barona Fivehundred (Tyler Redwood) settled on top by the first quarter in :27.3. Truckin Jones (Dallas McGee) moved first-up from the back of the pack en route to the half in :57.1 and took control at three-quarter in 1:27.3, but Dance Step followed his cover and pulled ahead in the stretch. The son of Real Desire-Lite On Her Feet stopped the clock in 1:57.3.

Truckin Jones stayed for second and Barona Fivehundred finished back in third.

The win was Dance Step’s third in 20 starts this season and bumped his earnings to $17,841. His 10th lifetime score pushed his bankroll over the $50,000 mark.

Fillies and mares faced off in the $1,650 Open Pace earlier on the card and Isabellas Wish also tipped off second-over cover after the third quarter mark and sprinted home to win in 2:01 with Darryl Mason in the bike. Willing Angel (Dallas McGee) followed to finish a length and a half behind in second as the pacesetter, Roadhouse Rhonda (Louis Fillion), was forced to settle for third.

Mason also co-owns Isabellas Wish with trainer Sherri Mason. The five-year-old Real Artist-Ty Wish mare notched her fifth win in 13 tries this year. Her 20th career win lifted her earnings to $54,712.

In the second division of the first leg of the $1,550 MHHI Claiming Series for $3,500 claimers, Jomarsadusty completed the mile and a half contest in 3:12.2 for driver Ron Cullen and trainer Jodie Cullen, who also share ownership. Dynes At The Beach (Tyler Redwood) tipped off second-over cover in the stretch and missed by a nose finishing second. Margies Daughter (Darryl Mason) rounded out the top three.

Jomarsadusty won for the first time this year in seven starts and seventh time of his career. The six-year-old gelded son of Stritross-Jomars Lucky Doll has earned $20,173 lifetime.
