2017 Standardbred Poll – Week 11

The Week 11 results from the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Standardbred Poll have been released, and Fear The Dragon, who will be in action this coming weekend, remains atop the list.

Fear The Dragon has drawn the rail and has been named the 3-5 morning-line favourite for the $300,000 Carl Milstein Memorial, which will take place this Saturday (August 12) at Northfield Park. He has won nine of his 10 seasonal starts and over $1 million in 2017 purse earnings. His wins include victories in the $1-million North America Cup at Mohawk Racetrack, the $500,000 Hempt at Pocono and the $400,000 Adios at the Meadows.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll is voted on by harness racing media representatives that cover North American Standardbred racing.

The rankings are based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The U.S. Harness Writers Association votes in December on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year. The Dan Patch Awards are separate from the O'Brien Awards, which recognize Canada's top Standardbreds of a given racing season.
