Sun Stakes Saturday Lines, Changes
The morning line odds and driver changes for this weekend’s Sun Stakes Saturday card of racing from The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono have been announced.
Only two driver changes have taken place. Brett Miller will steer the Steve Elliott-trained Boston Red Rocks in the $500,000 Ben Franklin Championship. Boston Red Rocks has been assessed as a 10-1 shot. Brian Sears will steer the Chris Beaver-trained Lucky Matter in the $500,000 Earl Beal Championship. Lucky Matter has been pegged as a 20-1 shot.

Pocono and the PHHA have also announced that on Sunday, July 2, the track will host 10 divisions of the first stakes racing for the 2017 two-year-olds. Each of the Pennsylvania All-Stars races will feature a purse of $30,000. There will be four divisions of colt pacers (Races 1, 3, 12, and 14) and six divisions of colt trotters (Races 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, and 13) Sunday’s post time will be 7:30 p.m.… Post time on Sun Stakes Saturday is 6:30 p.m.; Sunday’s card begins one hour later.
