Arrangements For John Grant
Trot Insider has received the visitation and funeral arrangements for John Grant, member of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, who passed away the
morning of Sunday, July 26.
Visitation will be taking place Tuesday, July 28 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at J. Scott Early Funeral Home, located at 21 James St., Milton, Ont. The funeral home can be contacted by telephone at 905-878-2669.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Milton District Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
The funeral service will be taking place Wednesday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, located at 139 Martin St., Milton, Ont. The church can be contacted by telephone at 905-878-6535.
After a valiant fight, Grant, 84, succumbed to cancer.
Grant, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame’s builders category in 1998 owned a long list of pacing and trotting performers in addition to playing a key role in the building and development of Flamboro Downs.
Grant was joined in the Hall of Fame in 2007 by his North America Cup-winning pacer, Bettors Delight, who was voted Canada’s Horse of the Year in 2001. Some of the other stars owned by Grant over the year were Jambo Dancer, Armbro Luxury, Beach Ray, Hornby Glory and Daisy Harbor.
