Bring A Friend Back For 2017!
What better way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of horse racing in Canada than by sharing your passion and introducing someone new to our great sport? It’s time to gather the troops and head to the racetrack because we’ve brought back the Bring A Friend challenge for the fifth consecutive year!
The event will be hosted at 10 racetracks across the country, and it’s up to you, the membership and industry participants to drive this event, invite your friends and bring them with you to the track the weekend of July 14-16 to get in on the action.
This national promotion is a collaborative effort between Standardbred Canada members, racetracks and SC’s ‘I Love Canadian Harness Racing’ Fan Club. The goal is to invite people who have never been to the harness races or haven’t visited a track within the past year so they can learn why we love this great sport! This is your opportunity to show your friends and family what happens at the track, teaching them the basics in reading a program, how to place a bet and getting them involved in the fun things happening between races.
Century Downs Racetrack & Casino, Clinton Raceway, Dresden Raceway, Grand River Raceway, Hanover Raceway, Hiawatha Horse Park, Kawartha Downs, Mohawk Racetrack, Rideau Carleton Raceway and Truro Raceway will be pulling out all the stops in their own unique fashion to offer an unforgettable experience for fans and their guests.
This year the participating tracks have organized a number of exciting activities to enhance the experience for members and their guests. Some of these include a free $2 bet, draws for rides in the starting gate car, food discounts, draws for winner’s circle presentations, paddock tours, driver meet and greets, t-shirt tosses and beginner handicapping workshops.
Check out the Bring A Friend page to check out the events happening at each of the participating tracks.
We’ll also be featuring several contests connected to the BAF promotion so stay tuned for updates on those in the next few weeks.
Let’s get some new people out to the races and show them the sport and industry we all love!
