Frank Jamieson Passes

Longtime horseman Frank Jamieson of Wallace, N.S. passed away on Sunday, August 28 in his 90th year.

Involved with Standardbreds and harness racing his entire life, Jamieson leaves a legacy of involvement that passed down through future generations. His son is Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Famer Carl Jamieson, and his grandson is two-time World Driving Champion Jody Jamieson.

Survived by wife Pauline, brothers Gordon and Roy, children Rod, Carl, Fred, Ivan, Ruth, Colleen, Cathleen, Virginia 20 grand-children and 22 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by five brothers, three sisters and children Emma and Sylvia.

Visitation will be held at Mundels Funeral Home in Pugwash, N.S. on Wednesday, August 31 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will follow on September 1 at the Fox Harbour United Church at 2:00 p.m.

Frank was a class act and a beacon for maritime harness racing. A contributing forefather of it’s existence.
