Baymount Financing In Home Stretch?

In an article by the Belleville Intelligencer, Doug Rollins, president of the Belleville Agricultural Society, has said that he has been informed that a deal for Baymount

Inc. to secure financing for the new Quinte Exhibition and Raceway is imminent.

According to the article, Rollins was given the information by Baymount's lawyer.

“The information I have is that it was just a matter of finishing up some information and things would be moving,” Rollins was quoted as saying. “It’s finally, I think, at last in the home stretch.”

What happened to all the money they have from selling shares

January 28, 2008 – Toronto, Ontario – Baymount Incorporated ("Baymount" or the "Company") (TSX Venture: BYM) announces that its offering of up to $1.5 million of units at price of $0.035 per unit (as previously announced on December 23, 2008) is ongoing. To date, an aggregate of approximately $634,000 in gross proceeds have been raised and the Company continues to make contact with additional potential subscribers.

Seems like there is some questionable conduct surrounding this deal. Why would Belleville council hang in for so long with a partner that had no money to do the deal? Clearly, Baymount has not had the money to do the development and just as clear is the fact the city has been totally complacent in allowing the situation to drag on for so long. The city has lost at least 2 years revenue; yet, not 1 counsellor has shown any concern. I'm even a bit concerned by the lack of noise from horsemen. I wrote to an Intelligencer blog on this about a year and a half ago and no one including horsemen posted to the comments. Guess that there is really only minor interest in having racing back in Quinte.

I Have to agree with the other two responses....I'll believe it when I see it!!!
Just how long can Baymount string everybody along....the ribbon cutting last August was nothing but a joke!!!

Well Mr. Rollins looks to me like the baymount lie has been wheeled out again,if you folks had a $100 dollar bill for everytime Baymount has announced they are ready and fully financed id be sitting at the new track admiring its beauty. Dont hold your breath people, Baymount has only there interests here not the horsemen of the quinte region.

Been there done that. Please SC don't publish any more "informational" stories about the Quinte situation until and unless your headline is " Construction Underway @ The New Q.E.R."
I along with thousands in Eastern Ontario want to believe that Quinte may rise again. Forgive me but the skeptic in me says "I'll believe it when i see it". If there was a more public display of Government and regulator ineptitude at oversight or lack thereof it's what's gone wrong at Quinte. Might be comparable to the farce that was the E-Health Ontario only nobody is willing to put an end to this one.
