The field has been finalized with post positions drawn for the 40th edition of the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup, which will headline a star-studded stakes card this Saturday, June 17 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Post positions were drawn on Tuesday afternoon at a press conference at Mohawk Park. Three-year-old pacers Christchurch, Confederate, Fulton and Its My Show won their respective North America Cup eliminations last Saturday and earned the opportunity to draw for posts two through six in the 10-horse field. After the elimination winners received their posts, the remaining horses and post positions were drawn.

I think there's a very good chance that Mohawk could set an alltime-record handle on Saturday. The Meadowlands is running what is probably the worst Saturday night racecard in its history that night. Seven of the 13 races are for amateur drivers, the "feature," if you can even call it that, is for nw10000L4, and the highest purse of the night ($18,000) is less than the lowest purse on Saturday ($19,000) at Mohawk.
