It was as simple as going to the front, making two lefts turns and trotting away from the competition for Frenchfrysnvinegar in Monday’s $35,000 Preferred Trot at Mohawk Racetrack

.

Frenchfrysnvinegar and driver Jody Jamieson took command right from the word “Go”, and after dictating the tempo through fractions of :27.1, :57.1 and 1:26.1 the six-year-old daughter of Angus Hall-Gugus used a :27.3 final frame to seal the deal in 1:53.4. Runner-up Before He Cheats was 3-3/4 lengths in arrears, with All Cantab grabbing the show dough.

Jeff Gillis trains the mare for owner David Smith of Rockwood, ON. The win improved her 2011 record to 5-4-0 in 11 tries, and the $17,500 payday boosted her lifetime earnings to $371,210.

Can some one explain why Randy Waples horse is charted with an interference break? The inquiry light wnet up but no change in the order of finish. What interferred with his horse, a pylon? I watched the race and thought the winner should have been set back as he slammed the brakes on in the second quarter and everyone behind him jammed up. Waples was just not quick enough to react and his horse broke. If the judges ruled there was no interference then why the charted IX on the line. This surely allows the horse to be entered without having to re-qualify.I dont understand this at all.
