Three-time O’Brien Award winning trainer Casie Coleman recently celebrated a major milestone in the money department as a result of surpassing $25 million
in career earnings.
Coleman, who in 2009 took home her third O’Brien Award trophy as this nation’s Trainer of the Year, achieved the milestone when Legal Litigator finished a solid second in Saturday evening’s $460,000 final of the George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series at Yonkers Raceway.
With more than $1.1 million in earnings this year, Coleman has hit seven figures in purse earnings in each of the last seven seasons. By operating a satellite stable in 2009 she managed to put rack up a career-best 276 wins while potting more than $6.6 million in earnings to go with it.
The Cambridge, Ontario horsewoman has trained a long list of pacing stars including American Ideal, Art Colony, Moving Pictures, Chancey Lady and last year’s two-year-old phenom, Sportswriter.
