.

The 2009 Standardbred Wagering Conference will take place at Caesars Windsor from Tuesday, April 28 – 29, 2009. It is open to industry stakeholders, horseplayers and anybody with an interest in North American harness racing.

The registration fee includes a full day of sessions on Tuesday, April 28, a half day on Wednesday, April 29, major evening events, with certain scheduled meals on both days and nights to be included.

Delegates who register for a full summit/conference package can also attend the final day of the Canadian Gaming Summit on Thursday, April 30.

The conference, to be held in conjunction with the Canadian Gaming Summit, will focus exclusively on standardbred wagering and the theme for the conference will be 'driving innovation.'

Standardbred Canada along with Media Edge Communications, the organizers of the Canadian Gaming Summit, are committed to putting together a first-class agenda featuring a slate of speakers which will bring horse racing and gaming industry stakeholders, along with horseplayers, together to share ideas and insights and continue to develop a plan for the future.

Standardbred Canada is currently working on the agenda and will continue to be updating it in the weeks ahead and leading up to the conference.

Really need a conference to figure out why people don't wager on Standardbreds any more? New Zealand suspends people when they feel the driver does not give the horse an honest drive. We debate whipping rules. Watch the replays of Georgian Downs from April 14th. Simon Allard drove a 9-2 shot like a world champion and then burried an even money shot on the rail. I for one don't need a conference to know that is not right. I will not bet again until something is done to clean this stuff up. See you in 10 years.

As today is the deadline, curious to know how many people have registered to date?
