Driver Robbie Robinson celebrated his 1,000th harness racing career win aboard his own trainee Freddiesboybristle in the ninth race on Sunday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Robinson tucked Freddiesboybristle into third off the gate and then sent him after the lead as the field moved past the first quarter mark. They held off first over attacker Archangel Hanover down the backside and then the wide-rallying Springtimeinalaska in the stretch to win by a quarter length in 2:01.3 over the 'good' surface rated two seconds slow. Early leader Prismatica finished one and a half lengths behind in third.

Freddiesboybristle paid $12.60 to win as the 5-1 third choice.

Robinson also co-owns the three-year-old Ken Warkentin colt with Jacqueline Dinelle, M. Shawn Camp, and Steven Bray.

The Metcalfe, Ont. horseman has earned 39 of his wins this year while banking over $250,000 of his $4.3 million purse earnings.

Robbie, we both know how many times it takes to lose to get that important win! Congrats, you were always a pleasure to drive with and to drive for. Keep on getting the wins for both of us and above all, stay safe in the bike. Howard.
PS: The Brownies are on me!
