Have you ever had one of those nights where nothing could go wrong? The tandem of driver Brad Forward and trainer Gary McDonald had a night like that during Thursday’s program at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Forward and McDonald put on a clinic by joining forces and winning five times during the 15-race card. Mystical Liz gave them their first trip to the winner’s circle thanks to her 1:57.2 triumph in Race 6. They came right back to take Race 7 with Its a Good Thing in 1:53.3 and added wins in Race 10 with Countyline Cam (1:55.1), Monarch Seelster (1:59.4) in Race 12 and First Avenue (1:59) in Race 14.

For McDonald, the big night at the office bumped his yearly win total to 57 while his purse winnings climbed to $334,336. The career winner of 659 races boasts a lifetime bankroll in excess of $3.7 million.

As for Forward who recently returned to action after missing well over a year of racing, he’s now racked up 17 wins since returning while banking close to $100,000. The career winner of 4,030 races has racked up more than $24 million in lifetime earnings.

Great job to Gary and Brad - amazing night! Credit should also be given to groom Johnny Archer, one of the best in the game.
