'Dovington' Horses Barred From NJ Tracks

According to the New Jersey SBOA, the Meadowlands Racetrack and Freehold Raceway will not be accepting entries of horses shipping from the Dovington Training Center in Delaware.

The report states that the move is due to an outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus [EHV-1], a highly infectious viral disease.

Trainers are advised to take temperatures on all horses prior to shipping to the racetracks.

A news story that came out yesterday stated that a standardbred in Kent Country, Delaware was confirmed to have tested positive for equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1).

hmmm...why do they need to ban entries when the farm is already under quarentine...against federal law to move until lifted.
