Meadows Offering Eight Spring Series
In March and April the Meadows will offer eight early and late-closing series, including a quartet for three and four-year-olds and another quartet exclusively for sophomores.
The events for three and four-year-olds, which are limited to Pennsylvania-owned or sired horses, will each feature two preliminary legs plus a championship with an estimated $20,000 purse. The series for three-year-olds, restricted to Pennsylvania-sired horses, include two preliminary legs and a final worth an estimated $25,000.
Entry fee for each series is $300. The series are listed below.
• The Donna Dunn Memorial Pace – three and four-year-old filly and mare pacers – first leg March 6
• The Ken Weaver Memorial Trot – three and four-year-old colt and gelding trotters – first leg March 7
• The Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot – three and four-year-old filly and mare trotters – first leg March 8
• The Walter Russell Memorial Pace – three and four-year-old colt and gelding pacers – first leg March11
• The Medusa Pace – three-year-old filly pacers – first leg April 3
• The Tamarind Trot – three-year-old colt and gelding trotters – first leg April 4
• The Princess Pablano Trot – three-year-old filly trotters – first leg April 5
• The Unlocked Pace – three-year-old colt and gelding pacers – first leg April 8
Nominations close February 15 for the three and four-year-old events, and March 15 for the sophomore series.
